MITAMA’s Accessibility team currently employs individuals who have been at the forefront of the Accessibility movement in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area for the past decade. MITAMA Product Accessibility Templates

MITAMA’s Product Accessibility Templates, or MPATs®, leverage our experiences in helping our clients refine or develop their own VPAT® processes and help drive standardization and consistency with our partners in industry and government.

Web Site Auditing

MITAMA utilizes both automated and manual processes to audit websites and help our clients address areas of concern with their products and applications. Our technicians possess years of experience and have the ability to develop a complete profile of any website that needs to meet Section508 regulatory standards. Once the website has been audited, our technicians are trained to translate the results and convey them to both technical and “non-technical” personnel and decision makers so that everyone has a clear understanding of the product’s compliance status. Once the results have been provided our team will develop a plan of action and identify the most cost effective way to get the product validated and verified.

Electronic Document Remediation

With many Federal Government agencies and public and private sector organizations making the decision to digitize their huge paper file libraries, the need for remediation of electronic documents has exploded over the past few years. During this time, MITAMA has gained valuable experience in working with many of the agencies at the forefront of this movement and has developed a standardized methodology of auditing and remediating the electronic documents of many different source applications.

How Does It Work?

  • You provide us with the source files of any document you want to have verified.
  • We will give you an estimate of how much time it will take to make the document compliant and accessible to the largest possible demographic.
  • We will begin the process of repairing the file and converting it (if necessary) to the final requested format.
  • We will apply our federally approved methods of remediation and verification to ensure the file has proper reading order and works with assistive technology.
  • We will send the files back to you including the final audit report and compliance certificate that details all actions taken to remediate and verify the file.
  • If the file cannot be successfully remediated, we will provide an alternate equal version of the file as a substitute.
  • The new files can be distributed or posted to the Web.
